ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER

The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with mechanical engineering experience, a strong understanding of fabrication and machine shop workflow, familiarity with project management, budget, and time-tracking tools, and should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with locomotives or similar systems involving high horsepower equipment operating in harsh environments is a plus. Good organizational skills, a team-oriented mentality, and a positive attitude are highly valued.

Primary Duties:
– Act as the primary interface between FMW Clients and the FMW team
– Track progress across multiple projects and clients on goals, timelines, budget, and resource allocation
– Coordinate design and fabrication activities with FMW Engineering, Fabrication, and contractors
– Work with FMW suppliers to ensure smooth supply chain operation
– Act as primary contact for program issue resolution
– Ensure timely and efficient issue resolution
– Provide concise updates to all stakeholders
– Travel to company and customer facilities to provide necessary project oversight (approx. 30%)

Requirements: 

∙ pass a drug and alcohol pre-screen and random testing 

∙ ability to pass a criminal background check 

∙ safety-minded and committed to working safely 

∙ proficient in reading and interpreting Blueprints and drawings 

∙ knowledge of basic hand tools 

∙ proper usage of PPE 

∙ document and record-keeping skills 

∙ Ability to maintain a clean and orderly workspace 

∙ strong focus on quality and efficiency 

∙ willingness to travel up to 25% 

Qualifications: 

∙ a minimum of 3 years experience 

∙ you are currently welding 

∙ able to pass a 6G test

∙ pressure vessel experience 

∙ experienced with SMAW, FCAW AND GTAW 

∙ high school diploma or equivalent 

∙ technical or trade school training 

∙ current and valid driver's license
